1. Scope and developer identity
This Privacy Policy governs the photoLab - AI Passport Photo Generator Android app (referred to as “photoLab”) and the photoLab product website. References to “we,” “our,” or “photoLab” mean the developer of the app identified as photoLab - AI Passport Photo Generator in the Google Play listing. This policy does not govern an issuing authority, browser, file-sharing destination, advertising provider, device manufacturer, or app store.
photoLab does not offer user accounts and does not operate a server that receives user portraits.
2. Information accessed, collected or shared
| Information | How it is used | Leaves the device? |
|---|---|---|
| Selected or captured photos | Face and quality checks, cropping, background processing, candidate comparison, editing and export. | No, except when the user explicitly saves or shares a file to a chosen destination. |
| Project and export metadata | Restore private projects, edit history and app-private export history. | No. Stored in app-private storage. |
| Advertising and device data | Ad delivery, consent, frequency control, reporting, fraud prevention and security. | Yes, to Google and participating advertising providers as described below. |
| Network connection data | Retrieve public official-rule pages and display official guidance in a browser. | Yes. The contacted website receives normal request information such as IP address and user agent. |
| App preferences | Remember theme, app-lock choice and privacy state. | No, except consent signals handled by Google’s consent and advertising services. |
3. Photos and on-device analysis
Camera images and items selected through Android’s photo picker are processed locally. Face detection, pose and expression checks, lighting and focus checks, background segmentation, crop calculation, image encoding and PDF generation occur on the device. These features analyze facial geometry for photo preparation; photoLab does not use them to identify a person, compare identities, build a face-recognition database or create a remote biometric profile.
Untouched originals, project metadata and edit checkpoints are stored in private app storage and encrypted with AES-GCM using a non-exportable key maintained by Android Keystore. Generated output remains private until the user chooses Save or Share.
4. Advertising and consent
photoLab includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform. Depending on region, device settings, consent choices and Google’s configuration, Google and its advertising partners may access or process:
- advertising identifiers and consent signals;
- IP address and approximate location inferred from network information;
- device, operating-system, app and language information;
- diagnostics, ad impressions, ad interactions and fraud-prevention signals.
This information may be used to provide contextual or personalized advertising, measure ad performance, prevent abuse and maintain service security. Available privacy choices can be reviewed from the app’s About screen. Google’s handling is described in Google’s Privacy Policy and Ads and Data information.
Banner and native ads may appear within the app. App-open ads may appear when returning to the app, and standard interstitial ads may appear at natural generation or export transitions. Ad controls remain provided by Google. An unavailable or failed ad does not cause photoLab to upload a photo.
5. Official-rule updates and external links
photoLab periodically checks a limited installed list of public HTTPS pages operated by passport or identity-document authorities. The app reads public page text only to detect a clear physical-size change. Requests do not contain a portrait, project, filename, document number or other content entered by the user.
The contacted authority may receive normal network data such as the device’s IP address, request time and the app’s rule-check user agent. If a page is unavailable, redirects to an unrelated host, becomes ambiguous or cannot be read, photoLab keeps its installed rule without interrupting the user.
When a user opens an official guideline, it launches in the user’s browser and becomes subject to the browser’s and destination website’s privacy practices.
6. Android permissions
- Camera: used only while the user is on the capture screen.
- Selected photo access: Android’s system photo picker grants access only to items the user chooses. The app does not request broad media-library permission.
- Internet and network state: used for advertising, consent, official-rule checks and opening public guidance.
- Advertising ID: may be accessed by Google Mobile Ads where available and permitted by platform settings and consent choices.
- Biometrics or device credentials: Android authenticates the user for optional app lock. photoLab does not receive or store fingerprint, face template, PIN or password data.
7. Retention and deletion
Private projects, untouched originals, edit checkpoints, private camera captures, generated app-private outputs and export-history metadata remain on the device until the user deletes them, uses Delete all private data, clears app storage or uninstalls photoLab. Android backup is disabled for photoLab.
The Delete all private data control removes photoLab-managed originals, encrypted project files, checkpoints, app-private outputs and history. It cannot remove copies that the user previously saved to another folder, printed, transmitted, or shared with another app or person; those copies must be deleted at their destination.
photoLab does not control the retention periods applied by Google, advertising partners, official websites, browsers, app stores or user-selected sharing destinations. Refer to their policies and controls for deletion requests relating to their services.
8. Security
photoLab uses Android app sandboxing, private storage, Keystore-backed AES-GCM encryption, disabled Android backup, HTTPS-only app traffic and temporary content-URI permissions. The optional app lock uses Android’s system authentication. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed absolutely secure, but photoLab is designed to limit portrait access and avoid unnecessary off-device processing.
9. Children
photoLab is not directed to children. Baby and infant capture mode is intended for use by a parent or legal guardian preparing a child’s document photo. A guardian should control the capture, storage and sharing of a child’s image and provide it only to the intended authority. photoLab does not knowingly create accounts for or directly solicit personal information from children.
10. This website
The photoLab website is a static informational site. Its files do not set cookies, run analytics, display advertising or contain tracking scripts. The hosting provider may process ordinary server-log information such as IP address, request time, requested page and browser user agent for delivery, reliability and security. The provider’s retention and handling are governed by the hosting arrangement selected by the developer.
11. Independent-service disclaimer
photoLab is not affiliated with, approved by or acting for any government, passport office, embassy or identity-document authority. Presets and automated checks are preparation guidance only. They do not guarantee acceptance, replace current official instructions, constitute legal advice or certify a photograph. Requirements can change and the issuing authority makes the final decision.
12. Policy changes
This policy may be updated when photoLab’s features, SDKs, data practices, legal requirements or distribution details change. Material updates will be reflected by changing the effective date on this page. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy.
13. Privacy contact
For privacy questions, data-handling concerns or deletion guidance, contact us at ipoalertrvc@gmaill.com. Include “photoLab privacy” in the subject and do not attach a passport, identity document or portrait unless specifically required through a secure support process.
